The best SOCi alternatives for franchise brands, and what SOCi costs

For a chain of 10 or more stores, the choice is a platform your team runs or each store’s work done for you. Ocally does the work. Below: SOCi’s real cost, what its terms say, and six other options.

ComparisonBy The Ocally teamPrices checked 13 min read

A tired marketing manager rests her cheek on her fist at her desk in the evening while paper bells and blank speech bubbles pour out of her laptop and pile up beside it.

The short answer

For a chain or franchise brand of 10 or more stores that wants each store’s work done, Ocally is the SOCi alternative to pick: Kai runs social, reviews, listings and local search store by store, nothing goes out without your yes, and two people are included. Counting the people and agencies a tool needs, it costs less for the same work. For a like-for-like platform, try Birdeye or Uberall; for listings first, Yext.

You run local social, reviews and listings for a chain or franchise brand, and SOCi is your platform today or tops your shortlist. Here is what SOCi does well, what it really costs, what its terms say, and seven alternatives checked on each company’s own site on October 6, 2026.

Which SOCi alternative fits your chain

With 10 or more stores, the real question is who does the work at each store. SOCi gives your team agents and a platform. Someone at head office still sets the rules, checks what the AI writes and owns the result 2,36.

  • Pick Ocally if you want each store’s work done: its own plan, every post, reply and listing fix waiting for your yes, two people on the account, and work that reaches into prices, stock and store routines.
  • Stay with SOCi if you need paid local ads in the same contract, hands-off posting at hundreds of stores, security certificates today, or years of franchise references.
  • Pick another tool for a like-for-like swap (Birdeye or Uberall), listings first (Yext), reviews at a public price (Reputation), franchisee posting (Rallio), or a head-office team running social itself (Hootsuite).
Before you shop, list which SOCi features your stores actually use each week. That list decides which alternative fits.

What SOCi does well

SOCi is built for exactly this buyer.

  • An agent at every location. Three Genius agents cover local search (listings, local pages, AI search), social (plans, writes, publishes, replies) and reputation (replies, review requests, surveys). Each is trained on your brand and acts store by store, under rules your team sets 1,2,3,4.
  • Scale and a track record. SOCi says it passed 412,000 deployed agents in September 2026 7. It names franchise customers such as Liberty Tax (2,200+ locations) 1, and franchisors ranked it first in Marketing Products and Services in Entrepreneur’s 2026 survey 8.
  • Deep social tools. It publishes to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google and X. SOCi Shield adds compliance rules and LinkedIn archiving for regulated industries 3.
  • Paid ads built in. Ads and Boost runs geofenced Facebook and Instagram campaigns for each location 5.
  • More around the edges. Local pages 6, surveys 9, many directory and review site integrations 19, and SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 42001 credentials 1.

If SOCi does the job at a price that works, staying is a fine answer.

SOCi pricing: what’s public

SOCi pricing is not published: soci.ai/pricing opens a demo request for brands with dozens to thousands of locations 11. Two public numbers exist:

  • SOCi’s own AWS Marketplace listing offers its listings product only, at $30 per location a month, with a 100-location minimum and a 12-month contract 12. Social, reviews, pages, ads and the agents are not in that price.
  • Capterra shows a vendor-provided starting price of $30,000 for an Enterprise plan, without saying per month or per year 13. A rough signal, not a quote.

Everything else is quoted, and the price depends on how long you commit 35.

What SOCi really costs: the tool plus the people

A platform’s price leaves out the people who run it. With SOCi, someone sets each agent’s rules, approves what waits, handles what’s flagged and, as SOCi’s own terms ask, checks what the AI writes 36. That time comes from staff hours, an agency or store managers’ evenings. Ocally’s price includes the work: Kai does it, and a growth specialist checks it. Your team’s part is saying yes.

A chain also needs more than one job done. Ocally’s plan covers listings, reviews, local search, social and AI answers at every store, so the fair comparison is the same work bought the usual way: SOCi for its part, the other tools and agencies a chain pays for the rest, and the staff time to run them. Every default below is the low end of a published price. SOCi quotes the full platform, so its line is an example, not SOCi’s price; the only public per-store figure is $30 for its listings product alone 12. We let SOCi replace the social agency too, which flatters SOCi: many brands still pay someone to write the posts. Type your own quotes over any line.

A month$13,963

$559 per store

$1,133 a month less, $13,590 a year

Every default is the low end of a published price; type your own quotes over them. A staff hour is $54: the median pay of market research analysts and marketing specialists, $37.87 an hour (May 2025), plus benefits, which are 30% of what employers spend on pay (June 2026)37,38. The staff and approval hours are our estimates. Ocally’s price is customized, from $500 per location a month. Defaults from: Peec AI pricing; RankAI: multi-location local SEO cost guide (June 2026); WebFX: GEO pricing (May 2026); BLS: market research analysts and marketing specialists, pay (May 2025); BLS: employer costs for employee compensation (June 2026).

At 25 stores, even at the cheapest published prices, the same work costs about $15,095 a month bought as tools, agencies and staff hours ($604 a store), against about $13,963 for Ocally with your team’s approval time ($559 a store). That’s about $1,133 a month less with Ocally, $13,590 a year. At mid-range agency prices, the gap grows by thousands a month 39. SOCi’s agreement is evergreen, so check your order form for when you can leave 35.

What most buyers don’t know about SOCi

All six come from SOCi’s own contract FAQ, terms and AWS listing. Ask about each one before you sign or renew.

  1. The agreement doesn’t end on its own. SOCi’s contract FAQ calls its agreement evergreen, with the term set by each order form, and says SOCi does not allow ending an order form for convenience 35. Your order form sets renewal and notice 14, so read it before you sign.
  2. Stores added mid-term cost the price of the day. New locations added during the term are charged at SOCi’s fees at that time, prorated, and pass-through fees for third-party services can change 14.
  3. The $30 AWS plan can’t be canceled. It covers listings only, for 12 months, and the listing says purchased subscriptions may not be canceled and fees are non-refundable 12.
  4. The AI’s work is yours to check. SOCi’s agents can publish automatically, wait for approval, or both 2. Its product addendum tells customers to independently review and verify all outputs, which it says SOCi has not tested, verified or guaranteed 36. Hands-off posting still leaves the checking, and the risk, with you.
  5. Your data has a 90-day clock. Once the agreement ends, SOCi deletes the content and data you uploaded within 90 days, unless you asked for download access before termination 14,35. Posts already published stay up 14.
  6. Local pages aren’t covered. The public terms don’t say what happens to local pages SOCi hosts, or their web addresses, when you leave 14. Get it in the order form.

What reviewers report

Individual reports, in our words. Treat them as questions for your demo.

  • The scores. 4.5 out of 5 from 251 Capterra reviews, many from 2019 to 2021 15; three Gartner Peer Insights ratings average 4.0 10.
  • The praise. Posting to many locations from one login, corporate approval of local posts and helpful onboarding 15. The newest G2 reviews add AI help with writing posts 16.
  • The complaints. A learning curve, a busy interface, glitches with scheduled posts 15, and, in October 2026, AI post ideas that start to repeat 16.
  • On Reddit. The thread “Switching from Soci.ai” has more questions than answers 17, and a restaurant operator weighing SOCi asks mainly about price 18. A customer with almost 800 locations calls the tool fine, but reports three or four account reps in about a year 34.

The 7 best SOCi alternatives

Each with its best fit, its price on October 6, 2026, and one honest limit. For deeper looks at two of these, see Birdeye alternatives and Yext alternatives.

1. Ocally (that’s us)

Best for: chains and franchise brands of 10 or more stores that want each store’s social, reviews and listings done for them.

Kai, Ocally’s AI growth agent, learns each store and works its list every day. For this job, store by store:

  • Social. He plans each store’s calendar around its products and neighborhood, writes posts in its voice, cuts reels from clips the store shoots, publishes to Instagram, Facebook and TikTok once you approve, and drafts replies to comments and messages (social with Kai).
  • Reviews. He reads each store’s reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, drafts every reply from that store’s own facts, and puts the urgent ones first. After a real visit, he asks every customer who agreed to hear from you for a review (reviews).
  • Listings and search. Each week he checks every listing field by field and fixes it on Google, Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp and Facebook once you approve (listings). He tracks where each store shows up on Google Maps and in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews answers (AI answers).

A growth engineer connects your systems, and a growth specialist checks Kai’s work before it reaches you. Anything public waits for your yes, and every action keeps a receipt. One plan replaces the platform license, the agency hours and the store managers’ evenings.

Pricing: customized, from $500 per location a month, with the work included. The first consultation is free, and the two people are on Ocally to start.

Where Ocally isn’t the fit: it is young, founded in 2026, with design partners in Southern California and no published customers or results yet, and it runs no paid ads. If you want software your own team will run, a tool costs less up front. The fair test is your hardest store, at the free consultation.

2. Birdeye

Best for: the closest like-for-like swap: agents for social, reviews and listings.

Birdeye’s social agents build a calendar for each location, write posts in your brand voice, and answer comments, flagging sensitive ones for a person. You approve posts one by one, in bulk, or let them publish 21.

Pricing: quote only, by location count; you pay only for what you deploy 20.

One honest limit: it reaches into front desk, appointments and insurance checks 20. Get a quote for only the parts you’d use.

3. Yext

Best for: brands whose first job is listings, with social and reviews on the same location data.

Yext’s social agent drafts local posts for every location, publishes to Google, Apple, Facebook and Instagram, and gathers comments in one inbox, with role-based approvals 22.

Pricing: public up to 10 locations, at $199 to $999 per location a year. Above 10, a demo 23.

One honest limit: Yext started in listings. Test its social tools with a month of your own content.

4. Uberall

Best for: listings, reviews and local social in one plan, with an agent that waits for a yes.

The Connect plan includes listings, reviews, local social and posting to Google and Apple 24. Its agent, UB-I, drafts review replies, listing fixes and local posts, and nothing is published until your team approves 25. It also runs hyperlocal social ads 26.

Pricing: quote only 24.

One honest limit: approval workflows come in an add-on, Collaborate Plus 24.

5. Reputation

Best for: brands whose bigger job is reviews and surveys, at prices they can see.

Plans cover review requests, AI replies and listings, with surveys higher up. Managed services cost extra 27.

Pricing: public, $80 to $150 per location a month; Enterprise, from 125 locations, is custom 27.

One honest limit: the social suite is an upgrade, so price it in if you lean on social 27.

6. Rallio

Best for: franchise systems that want franchisees and staff posting from brand-approved content.

Each location gets a library of pre-approved posts to tailor and schedule, AI posts from a local photo, AI review replies and employee advocacy. Review requests and listings are add-ons 28.

Pricing: quote only 29.

One honest limit: it works where franchisees want to do the posting themselves.

7. Hootsuite

Best for: a head-office team running every store’s social itself, at a published price.

Hootsuite plans, publishes and answers messages across social accounts, with AI help for posts. Advanced adds approval workflows 30.

Pricing: per user a month, billed annually: Standard $99, Professional $199, Advanced $399; 14-day free trial 30.

One honest limit: it covers social only, and the writing stays with your team. Sprout Social is similar, at $79 to $399 per seat a month 31.

Why chains choose Ocally

  • Each store gets its own plan. Its own goals, daily list and results, measured against its own starting point. The store you rarely visit gets the attention the flagship gets.
  • The work gets done. Kai writes the posts, drafts the replies, fixes the listings and checks the AI answers. Your team approves instead of running another dashboard.
  • Two people come with it. A growth engineer connects your systems. A growth specialist checks Kai’s work and brings your managers along.
  • Nothing goes out without your yes. Anything public, any spend, any price change and any customer message waits for approval, an edited action needs a fresh yes, and every action keeps a receipt (security).
  • One plan, not a stack. Listings, reviews, local search, AI answers, social, messaging and store routines run from the same store facts, on an isolated platform for your business. Ocally doesn’t train AI models on your data.

The quickest way to judge is one store: bring your hardest one, and compare what Kai would do there with what you get today.

Switching from SOCi

Plan backward from your order form’s end date, so no store goes quiet.

  • Find your dates. The order form sets the term, renewal and notice period 14. Diary the deadline with two weeks to spare and send notice in writing.
  • Export first. Ask in writing for download access to posts, media, reviews, replies, survey data and reports 14.
  • Own every account. Your team should own each store’s Google Business Profile, Facebook page and Instagram account. One agency owner on Reddit advises asking every vendor this in writing 32.
  • Move local pages carefully. Keep the same addresses or set permanent (301) redirects, then update the website link on every listing.
  • Keep listings steady. Set holiday hours first (holiday hours checklist) and check every Google profile for drift for 60 days.
  • Overlap. Start the new tool on a few stores 30 to 60 days before the end date, turning off SOCi’s automatic posting or replies there first, so nothing posts twice.
  • Swap what’s in the stores. Replace survey links and review QR codes at the counter.

How to choose: a checklist for the demo

Bring this to every demo, SOCi’s renewal call included. Get the answers in writing.

  • What does it cost at our store count, in year one and at renewal? Contract length, notice period, and can we end it early?
  • Which jobs are in the quote: social, reviews, listings, pages, ads? Can we buy only what we use?
  • Can anything post without a person? Who checks the AI’s work, and who answers for it when it’s wrong?
  • Show a week of posts for one of our real stores, and replies to its real 1-star review.
  • Who gets a review request? Google bans selectively asking for positive reviews 33.
  • Who does the work day to day, and how many hours a week?
  • Can franchisees approve for their own stores?
  • If we leave, how do we export everything, and what happens to our local pages?
  • Can we speak with a brand like ours that uses it today? (Ocally can’t offer one yet.)

The right SOCi alternative is the one that gets each store’s work done, at a price you can defend at renewal.

Questions

How much does SOCi cost?

SOCi doesn’t publish a price list; its pricing link opens a demo request 11. Its own AWS Marketplace listing prices its listings product only, at $30 per location a month on a 12-month contract with a 100-location minimum 12. The full platform is quoted, and its contract FAQ says longer commitments get better prices 35. Add the staff hours it takes to run, and you have the real cost.

Is Ocally cheaper than SOCi?

For the work a chain needs done, yes. At 25 stores, an example SOCi price of $100 a store, plus listings, local search and AI answers work bought as tools and agencies and the staff hours to run it all, come to about $15,100 a month even at the cheapest published prices, against about $14,000 for Ocally with your approval time 37,38,39. SOCi’s one public price, $30 per location, is for its listings product alone 12.

What is the best SOCi alternative for franchises?

If you want each store’s work done, with a yes on everything and two people included, Ocally, though it is young and has no published results yet. For a like-for-like platform with agents for social, reviews and listings, Birdeye or Uberall 21,25. For franchisees posting from a brand-approved library, Rallio 28. For a head-office team running social itself, Hootsuite 30.

Who are SOCi’s competitors?

For multi-location brands, SOCi’s closest competitors are Birdeye, Uberall and Yext, which all run social, reviews and listings across many locations with AI help 21,22,25. Reputation competes on reviews and surveys with published prices 27. Rallio, Hootsuite and Sprout Social compete mainly on social 28,30,31. Ocally competes by doing each store’s work, with two people included.

SOCi vs Yext: which fits a multi-location brand?

SOCi is the deeper social and franchise tool, with agents for search, social and reviews plus local paid ads 1,5. Yext starts from listings and adds a social agent and reviews on the same location data, with public prices up to 10 locations and quotes above 22,23. Choose SOCi if social and franchisee posting drive the work, and Yext if listings come first.

What do SOCi reviews say?

Mostly good. SOCi rates 4.5 out of 5 from 251 reviews on Capterra, where many reviews date from 2019 to 2021 15. Reviewers praise posting to many networks and locations from one login, corporate approval of local posts and support. Common complaints are a learning curve, a busy interface, occasional scheduling glitches and, in one Reddit report, account rep turnover 15,16,34.
